Expanding my jewelry collection (and a special Mother’s Day discount code)

Apr 12, 2019 | 1 comment

Hi! Hello! How are you all doing? I’ve not been putting a lot of effort into my blog for the past couple years which I am actually super sad about. Afterall this is where it all started when I pubilshed my very first post back in 2015! I’ve been thinking about picking back up on writing so many times, but with the rise of short-form content (hello TikTok, Shorts and Reels) it’s just harder to have time for it all these days. As much as I love creating snappy little styling reels I do also miss long-form and slower content, and I’m secretly hoping that we’ll start seeing a slow shift back to that in the near future. I mean, am I the only one feeling super fatigued by the AMOUNT of content out there some times? Everything is so high speed; similar to our consumption habits. I know everyone seems to love TikTok, I’ve given it a go myself and I do kind of like it too, but man. From a content creator perspective (even not just that, from a social media user perspective too), I’m so tired of feeling like you have to be “in it” and that you need to be onboard with all the newest social media trends alive to keep up. Anyway… moan over.

I wanted to check in here with a bit of a life update (for those of you old-school enough to enjoy the written format) as I feel like we’ve not chatted in ages!

(Trigger warning: infertility)

One major thing I have been considering openeing up about for a while is infertility and how this has been affecting our lives for the past 2 years. I’ve been going back and forth about sharing this for so long because well, it’s private and intimate and while I do like keeping things real on here some things are just better kept private. Having said that I’ve felt so incredibly alone in this whole process, and actually, after deciding to just be honest about it I’m amazed of how many other people we meet are actually going through the same. According to WHO 1 in 6 people are affected by infertility on a global scale, so really this is something we should talk way more about, yet there seems to be a lot of shame and taboo evolving around it. It’s something you always think happens to the next person and it’s never something I pictured would happen to me. But as this article states “infertility does not discriminate”, and it can happen to anyone.

As you know if you’ve followed me for some time we were blessed with a beautiful daughter back in 2020. When we decided we wanted children at the time, it didn’t take long from making that decision until I actually had a positive pregnancy test in my hands. Not long after that we felt ready to expand the family again, but as it turns out fate had other plans for us. It took a long time for us to even feel sure and ready to become parents the first time around, but once we did (it’s true what everyone always tells you) there was nothing else we rather wanted. That was it. Wanting to experience it all again so bad and then not being able to conceive has been no less than heartbreaking. At some point it becomes part of your life – you kind of get used to the fact that it’s just not happening. I don’t want to go into too much detail, but we were ultimately left with no other option (if we ever wanted more kids) than to go through IVF. I’m currently on my second round of IVF after one unsuccesful attempt back in fall 2023. Full of hormones and super (!) tired, but feeling okay despite it all. Having spring around the corner and generally experiencing lighter days at the moment helps a lot.

I’m very grateful for where we are and what we have, please know that. So we will have to see what the future brings. I just wanted to open up about this so that maybe if you’re going through the same thing; please know that you’re not alone and I know exactly how you feel <3 And maybe also so you guys know why I might be a little absent sometimes.

It’s only been 3 months since I launched my sustainable jewelry collection Scandinavia Bound made possible with the help from Stilnest, and it’s been going so well. I’m so proud of the collection, and I wear the jewelry every single day. Sometimes when I tell my surroundings about the collection, they seem so surprised that sustainability and jewelry can even be mentioned in the same sentence like that; “sustainable jewelry? But how?” You can read all about the way in which my jewelry collection is sustainable right HERE.

Right now we’re working on adding some extension pieces to the existing collection. Again, that’s the cool thing about not mass producing and that everything is made to order; we get to play around with the different designs in another way – maybe even improve or add something new to some of the existing ones. I can’t reveal too much about the designs yet, but we’re going to make a bracelet, a cute set of hoops and a new multi-purpose pendant. I’m loving the result already, and I can’t wait to share it with you all! Let me tell you this though, I feel like the new pieces are going to make my jewelry collection feel more complete because these are the types of jewelry, that I like to wear every single day and feel naked without. I’m like a child at Christmas just by the thought of being able to wear them all soon, haha!

I’m of course going to share the new designs with you as soon as they are released, which will hopefully happen within the next few months.

Give something special to someone you love

We’ve decided to do a little campaign over the weekend, where we’re offering you a 15% discount on your next order with the code SIGNEXMOTHERSDAY  (all caps) when you order jewelry from my Scandinavia Bound collection. Not only to celebrate Mother’s Day coming up but also as a huge thank you for all your support since the launch of the collection. The code is valid from today the 12th to the 15th of April 2019, and it’s only valid for my designs. Since it as mentioned will be Mother’s Day really soon, maybe you’d like to spoil your dear mother, girlfriend, the mother of your children or maybe just yourself with some of my designs.

The thought behind the collection has been all along, that they should last a lifetime and that someone dear to you should be able to inherit them one day. I’ve mentioned before that I have a gold ring that’s an heirloom from my husband’s grandmother, and although I never got the chance to meet her, this ring means a lot to me. It’s a piece of my husband’s past and a piece of another woman’s life and time here on earth. Well, call it sentimental but isn’t that what makes heirlooms so great, no matter what form they come in?

Buy the 14 ct solid gold Gemini Zodiac pendant HERE (adlink)

Recently I also got my hands on the stunning Gemini Zodiac pendant from Stilnest’s own collection (bought for a good price since I do work with the brand too). It’s the pendant in the short chain on these images. The chain is one I already had by the way. I love combining necklaces in different lengths like this as you might know, and I think it compliments my own designs perfectly.

I’m somewhat of a sucker for astrology (yes, I’m one of those people), and sometimes I read my horoscope on a daily basis. Just because I think it’s kind of cozy, and some days I find it quite empowering or inspiring. Whether you believe that stuff or not, it does something to you… Usually I tend to think that it is shockingly precise to what’s going on in my life, especially this (Danish) description of my star sign Gemini: “Geminis are charming, curious and open-minded. They are excellent at getting their messages through, either through communication, sales or trades. They are actually said to be able to “sell sand in Sahara”. They love exploring new places, learning new things and having deep conversations with others. They are also capable at having 2 different types of jobs at a time and feel quite good about it.” Do you Geminis recognise yourselves in this too?

Anyway, I hope the discount code will be appreciated by you or someone dear to you somehow. Have an amazing weekend lovelies!

Hello Signe. I enjoy following you here and on Instagram and You Tube.

You have something to say and you say it in a positive way.

I have the ring from your collection in gold and I wear it all the time. I am anxious to see the bracelet and I am hoping it will come in a longer length.

    Best Wishes.
