My new beautiful biker jacket in recycled leather

Aug 19, 2019 | 2 comments

I promised you guys in my Copenhagen guide, to make a post all about that one thing I bought while I was there. I’ve treated myself to the most beautiful biker jacket in recycled leather from Pelechecoco! I’ve followed this brand forever over on Instagram, and this was definitely one of the shops I was most excited about visiting during my stay in CPH.

A biker jacket is an absolute must for me in my basic wardrobe. Followed by the blazer it’s probably my preferred type of jacket (when the weather allows it), and I love styling it with everything from jeans to feminine dresses and skirts. During fall I can’t wait to style it with boots, jeans and a jumper or hoodie. This post is in no way sponsored by the way, and my visit in the store was 100% of my own interest. I did have an agreement with them to swing by though, so I could take some pictures and film some snippets of the store.

Pelechecoco is a family owned business, and one of the founders where originally also one of the founders behind Diesel. But as we see more and more (and as I’ve experienced myself after just a few years working as a designer in the commercial fashion business), many people in this business feel an urge to break free from the fast-changing way of creating fashion. Taking a few steps back and focus on quality above quantity, and to focus on sustainability too.

I love brands that focus on timeless, sustainably made materials and designs. With that, brands that reuse or recycle materials we already have available just go that extra mile, that I think should be the next thing we focus on, and I’m such a huge fan of the brands that does just that! One of the biggest problems with the textile industry is the amount of new clothing produced all the time, “sustainably made” or not. So in my opinion there’s lots of reasons to support a brand like Pelechecoco, because they again focus on what’s already available and then design their garments from that.

And can we all just appreciate how beautiful this jacket is?? I mean, I can’t get over it. It’s got all the right details and so much more; I find it to be a bit different from the classic biker jacket at the same time, which I by the way also tried on during my visit (proof HERE). The white contrast stitches make my jacket stand out a little more, I think. Another reason why I choose this one, was also because it’s slightly longer and a little more heavy than the classic biker jacket. That, combined with the heavier, red cotton lining makes it a bit more warm and suitable for autumn. And then I would like to say that I think the price range is pretty reasonable too!

I haven’t decided yet, whether to sell my good old biker jacket that I bought preloved 6 years ago – or if I should simply store it away and save it for the summer season, because it’s more lightweight. In any case I don’t need both of these in my wardrobe at the same time. I already know which one will be my preferred choice… 😉 The jacket had only just landed in their store when I bought it, so I’m afraid I can’t provide you with a link. I can give you the style name though: Sylvie Jacket. But you can keep an eye out on their webshop right HERE.

Perfekt her til efteråret.

Wow!!!! It looks so beautiful on you! Love the older one too, I’d be tempted to hang on to it .. it’s a classic, your favorite style, and it’s a great weight for those slight cool yet still warm-ish fall days! Denmark is like the Canadian Prairies weather-wise…so much cold weather, we always get maximum wears and our money’s worth out of our coats and jackets! ?
