Everyday beauty essentials.

/ I love myself a little “me-time” in the morning in front of the mirror, I can’t deny that! For me it’s just a really nice, relaxing way to start the day by taking care of my self, and get my pretty on! I recently thoroughly decluttered my makeup collection, so now I really feel that I have only the essence, the main things – the things I actually use – left in my collection. I generally go for either organically produced or at least products without perfume when I buy makeup and beauty products. Choosing products without perfume has actually been an important factor for me for years now, mostly because I don’t like the feeling of having 10 different smells of perfume on me. My deo and my actual perfume is enough!

Clinique Even Better Foundation / L’oreal True Match Concealer / Youngblood Mineral Setting Powder / Mary Lou Manizer highlighter / Nilens Jord Products (danish brand, if you are looking for an alternative Clinique is my best tip) / Zoeva Blush Palette

/ Among my favorite products is Clinique’s Even Better foundation, which gives a light-coverage, and most importantly it feels nice on the skin. I recently bought the products from “Nilens Jord” (danish brand, translated “Earth of the Nile”) which is also known as a gentle makeup brand that doesn’t add perfume to their products. I love both the mascara, the eyebrow pencil (which unfortunately doesn’t have a spoolie brush on the end, so I’m missing that a bit!) and not least the clear eyebrow mascara. I have seriously been looking for a good transparent eyebrow mascara in long time, but have not been able to find one that was strong enough for my bushy eyebrows. But this one is really great! Especially if you let the first coat dry and then apply a second coat. That’ll keep your brows into place all day.

I always start by cleansing my skin and apply a good face cream before I apply makeup. After that I apply foundation with a damp beauty blender, followed by concealer under the eyes and on various small impurities. I finish up the the base with a good transparent setting powder. Then I do my eyebrows up and give them a little eyebrow fix. After that I apply mascara, blush and finish the whole thing up with a little bit of highlighter on the brow bone and on the cheekbone. It gives such a lovely fresh and healthy glow! I can definitely recommend the one I use from Benefit called “Mary Lou manizer”. It’s a little pricey, but worth every penny. You don’t need a lot, so I’m sure it will last a long time!

I loved this post so much. I am trying to use up all my extra makeup products so I am only left with the essentials, too. I really look forward to that!

Hi! Same here with bushy brows. To combat them I use Gosh transparent brow gel. I am glad you quit your day-job to pursue your projects. I love the fact that sustainable and minimalistic can be fashionable at the same time and that you can show us how to achieve that. Thanks for the inspo and good luck! Br, Anna from Finland
