Business casual (or smart casual, which is a slightly more casual version of the two) is a way to ensure looking professional and presentable, while staying casual and comfortable at the same time. It's especially a great way of dressing for work for those of you who don't like when things get too formal or "stiff", but for me personally the business casual way of dressing goes beyond work; I'd dress like this during weekends too. 👖⁠

The key to business casual is to have both classic pieces (left side) AND casual pieces (right side) in your wardrobe, and include elements from both sides when creating outfits. That way your outfits will always be perfectly balanced. 👀 Colours and fits can vary depending on your own personal taste, but here are what my business casual essentials look like.⁠

While I didn’t make to 7 whole days of wearing the same item (these jeans), because little one was sick 🤮 Saturday afternoon and I had a bit of a weird start to the week; I did manage to wear them 4 days in a row. It was fun! Definitely giving it another go again next week with another item, as it is the sub-challenge for the month of May in #nothingnew22.

What I experienced was definitely how fun it was to try out these jeans with more different tops than I probably would have normally, and especially enjoyed the outfit with the blush pink blouse. In fact, I ended playing dress-up for an entire evening, just styling my wardrobe in different ways, playing with silhouettes and combos and I had so much fun. 🥳

Anyway, even though I’m loving these jeans more and more, they have been a bit of a difficult pair for me and I do think I’ll be altering them a bit, making them more of a barrel leg style (more tapered towards the hem) as I don’t think they are my most flattering pair. It’s not always a must, sometimes great outfits come from the most unusual shapes paired, but I do think I’d get more wear out of them and feel slightly more comfortable with that shape.

So. Learned a lot already! How about you guys? 👀
