Style: all my oldest faves.

The other day I released a video on my Youtube channel, where I shared some tips to put together a lot of cute looks for all the summer parties. My focus in this video were the timeless classics, and the black suit was one of them. I also styled most of these looks for an everyday look, just to emphasize how versatile they are – and in that connection I rediscovered the above outfit, which is probably the most basic outfit you’ve ever seen, but nevertheless something I feel amazing in! I often wear both the blazer and the pants separately, but there’s just something really cool about a suit put together with totally down-to-earth items, like a plain white t-shirt and a pair of converse sneakers.

Another thing with this look is that it consists of many of my oldest favourites from my wardrobe. My Converse may be the absolute oldest item I even have, and with their almost 8 years of age they have really been a faithful go-to the last many years. There has been a change of laces along the way (very good tip to make a few sneakers look like new again by the way!) and they have also been glued here and there, but I will dare to say they have a couple of years left in them still. They also get breaks because, as many of you already know, I’m definitely more a boot-kinda-girl. I purchased my Inwear blazer six years ago, and with the bag from Adax which is also a good 6-7 year old, these two items probably mark the very beginning of my interest in sustainable fashion, in a classic “quality over quantity” sense.

This is where I feel that sustainable fashion not only resembles sustainable brands and initiatives; sustainable fashion is also the fact that you have invested in timeless classics that you want to use year after year and which you’d gladly take good care of to prolong the life of. Of course, I support sustainable brands and secondhand fashion as the very first thing whenever I want to add new items to my wardrobe today, but I have many classics in my wardrobe from conventional brands, and I don’t intend to replace these as long as they still add value to my wardrobe.
