Seriously, nothing beats the feeling of proper fit

Seriously, nothing beats the feeling of proper fitting clothes 💯 When I slit my arms through the sleeves of that blazer, it honestly felt like it was made for me.⁠ 🥹 I just know I’m going to get so much more wear out of it now!!

When I shared the first reel going through the items from my wardrobe I was thinking about having altered this season, some of you were concerned about the price which I completely understand! Would it even be worth it? Why not simply buy a new, better fitting piece? Would it even make sense to change the design of the original piece? That’s why I wanted to break it down and share my thoughts and experience with you, so perhaps you could make up your own mind afterwards. Obviously price will vary depending on the service, the city and even the country you live in, and we also have different starting points and budgets so context is key here. 💁‍♀️

But if I were to buy that blazer from new - a good quality, structured, heavy weight blazer - the price for that one alone could easily exceed what I spent in total on alterations in this case. And even in a case like that, it’s not always a given that the new piece will have a better fit either 🤷‍♀️ So much clothing is made to fit a stereotype of a body, when in reality we all look so different.

I know lots of us would be inclined to buy a new piece of clothing instead of fixing up an old piece. I get it, and sometimes it might be the best solution. But if we want the fashion industry to be more sustainable, we have to change the narrative in old vs. new. Value is not just found in newness. Value can be found in old pieces too. ⁠🙏🏻✨❤️‍🩹

As cool as it was (I sold it a few years ago), I think the colours of this one are a lot more mergeable with my existing wardrobe, making it so much easier to actually style it!⁠
