Eco-friendly fashion: how to make the first steps easier on yourself

by use less | Jan 21, 2020 | Capsule wardrobe guides

These tips are beyond supporting ethical fashion brands (which is of course also essential). So this post has more focus on “using what you have” than “shopping for new” – but should you be interested in delving into the amazing world of sustainable fashion...

Switching up my skincare routine: some lessons I’ve learned lately.

by use less | Jan 26, 2018 | Lifestyle

As I’ve been expressing on my Youtube channel a couple times lately, my face skin has been quite a challenge for me lately. I’ve actually had a very bad relationship with my skin since I was about 15 years old, when I first started getting acne. A couple...

Here’s the question 👇🏻 “Will I still like this Here’s the question 👇🏻

“Will I still like this piece when it’s dirty in the wash bin and when it starts showing signs of wear?” 👀

It’s not just a matter of slowing down our consumption habits because, well, our world is literally on fire - something beautiful happens when we keep our clothes in our lives for longer too.

They become sentimental. They become interesting because they start telling a story.

Think about that one pair of favourite boots that have walked all over the world with you, or the bag that’s supported you through daily life for years. Anyone can buy trendy and new clothes. But building personal and lasting style? That’s where it gets interesting to me.

I also find this to be a clever question in terms of reevaluating the quality of something. So before you even buy it, ask yourself questions like how is it going to wash? Do I have the energy to care for it the way it needs? What if it needs repairing, would I be willing to spend time and perhaps money on that too?

They’re NOT just clothes. They’re little pieces of you ✨ #slowfashion #fashionpsychology

It wasn’t just a wardrobe declutter… It changed th It wasn’t just a wardrobe declutter… It changed the way I looked at my entire life. 🤲🏻

Before that, it was almost as if I was living from the outside in - trying to keep up, fit in, and become the version of myself I thought I was supposed to be.

Decluttering my wardrobe became the first time in a long time I really checked in with myself. Slowly, I stopped chasing trends. I stopped spending money I didn’t have on clothes I couldn’t afford. And I started choosing what genuinely felt like me.

Of course, finding my personal style was rewarding.

But the real transformation was feeling more connected to myself. More grounded. More authentic.

The calm. The ease. The feeling of living in alignment with my values.

Looking back, that one wardrobe declutter more than 10 years ago became the beginning of a much bigger journey than I ever imagined. 🌾
