When distance creates clarity šŸ’ Last year I steppe When distance creates clarity šŸ’ Last year I stepped away from the life I had built for years as being self employed. Not because it wasn’t good - but because life suddenly felt heavy in ways I hadn’t experienced before. Going from one to two children, little sleep, a body full of hormones, and a nervous system trying to keep up with a completely new rhythm. It was impossible to run ā€˜business as usual’ through that lens.

Under all that pressure I chose stability. I closed my business as a knew it and took on a fulltime job in marketing. And I’m grateful I listened to that version of myself.

But distance has a quiet way of creating clarity.

Somewhere along the way, the fog lifted. We found the answers to why our little one isn’t sleeping at night, life softened again, and I suddenly see how deeply my old way of working aligned with the life I want to live. As a mother, as a creative, and as a woman running her own business.

I don’t regret any of the decisions I made this past year, because it’s made me realise that I never lost my direction. I just needed a break to calibrate everything back into place. Regain some confidence in what I’m capable of too.

I’m very excited that I’ll be stepping back into self-employment this spring, with calmer, clearer boundaries, and a deeper trust in the pace I want to build my work and my life around.

Sometimes moving away is exactly what allows you to come back home. šŸ«¶šŸ»
