/ A lot of you have been requesting me to make a guide on how to structure your wardrobe the best possible way, so that it meets the need for dressing a particular way for work – especially the more formal work environment. I know, that my guide is not complete in any way; there are a lot of other different work environments that I don’t really cover, but I hope that you’ll find it inspiring anyway, so that it can help you structuring your wardrobe and avoid that feeling of having nothing to wear in the morning.

The formal work environment

/ I’ve parted my wardrobe in 3 main sections: my all-year basics (you’ll find that here), my mini-work wear capsule (the one you see in the overview above, containing selected items from my all-year basics) and then my seasonals, that I can use both for my job to spice up the otherwise very basic look and during weekends too. If you want you could put in something in your wardrobe, to physically divide these 3 sections from each other, if that will make it easier for you to keep the things parted. In this way you’ll make it much easier for yourself to get dressed for work in the morning. I’ve been focusing on the very classic, clean and feminine style for this more formal workwear capsule.

The creative/casual work environment

/ I work as a social media assistant half of my work week, and so the creative/casual work environment is a place I find myself in on these days. The environment is very casual and people basically attend their job in whatever they want (within reasonable limits) – sneakers or heeled boots, whatever you are in the mood for. So in this situation my wardrobe looks pretty much the same as it does today. Have a closer look HERE. In short I’ve parted it in my all-year basics and the my seasonals to spice it all up. That’s it. There’s not really a defined line between what i wear at work and when I’m off duty. I will say though, that I plan my outfits from the tasks I’ll be doing at the office. If I know I’m gonna be running around taking pictures for our social media all day, I’ll make sure to wear sneakers and a top that’s not to warm, because the heat comes pretty naturally on days like these, haha 😉

That’s it.

Working from home

/ When I’m not working as a social media assistant, I’m working on my own as an online influencer. That means I’m making all my content about sustainable fashion and lifestyle in here, on my Youtube channel and on my Instagram. Even though it can be very tempting to sit around the house in my sweats or pyjamas all day (when I’m not filming or taking outfit pictures), I hardly ever do it. I feel like a zombie when I get on with the day like that, I never feel fully awake and it’s just bad for my productivity. So I get up, eat my breakfast, drink my coffee, wash my face, put my hair up in a bun and put on something that’s comfy but still looks quite alright, even if I’m not going anywhere. Then it’ easy for me to put on a coat, a pair of sneakers or boots and head out the door if I’m running errands.
